【摘要】:Part1,paragraph1.2definesthescopeofcoverageforVIII-2.Thetermscopereferstoboththetypeofpressureequipmentbeingconsideredinthedevelopmentoftheserules,aswellasthegeometricscopeofthevesselthatisstampedasmeetingVIII-2.InaccordancewithPart1,paragraph1.2.1.1,pressurevesselsaredefinedascontainersforthecontainmentofpressure,internalorexternal.Thispressuremaybeobtainedfromanyexternalsource,orbytheapplicationofheatfromadirectorindirectsource,asaresultofaprocess,oranycombinationthereof.ThemannerinwhichthescopeofthestandardisdescribedfollowsverycloselytotheintroductionsectionofVIII-1.Inthefollowingparagraphs,adiscussionofrequirementsisprovidedonlywhereasignificantdifferenceexistsbetweenVIII-2andthescopedefinitionfromVIII-1,orwhereamajorchangewasmadefromOldVIII-2.Withregardtopressurevesselsinstalledinnon-stationaryapplications,Part1,paragraph1.2.1.2.bnowpermitsstampingofVIII-2vesselsinstalledonmotorvehiclesandrailwaycars.ThisparticularapplicationwasprohibitedintheOldVIII-2.ConstructionandstampingofVIII-2vesselsinnonstationaryapplicationsrequiresapriorwrittenagreementwiththelocaljurisdictionalauthoritycoveringoperationandmaintenancecontrolforaspecificservice.ThisoperationandmaintenancecontrolmustberetainedduringtheusefullifeofthepressurevesselbytheuserinconformancewiththeUsersDesignSpecification.Part1,paragraph1.2.1.2.e.3definespressurevesselsinwhichsteamisgeneratedbutwhicharenotclassifiedasUnfiredSteamBoilersthatrequireconstructioninaccordancewiththerulesofSectionIorVIII-1.AthirdcategoryforavesselthatgeneratessteamthatmaybeconstructedtoVIII-2wasadded:vesselsinwhichsteamisgeneratedbutnotwithdrawnforexternaluse.OnesignificantdifferencebetweenVIII-2andtheOldVIII-2isspecialservicevesselssuchasthoseinlethalservice.InOldVIII-2,paragraphAG-301.1(c),theuserand/orhisdesignatedagenthadtodefineintheUDSifavesselwasintendedforlethalservice.Iflethalservicewasspecified,thenadditionaltechnicalrequirements(e.g.enhancedNDE,restrictionsonmaterial,etc.)wereimposedonthisvessel.InVIII-2,additionalrequirementsarenotspecifiedforlethalserviceoranyotherspecialservicecondition.Therationalebehindthischangeisthattheuserand/orhisdesignatedagentareresponsibletodescribeintheUDS(seePart2,paragraph2.2.2),theintendedoperationofthevessel,andifavesselisintendedforaservicethatisdangeroustolifeandproperty,thentheusershouldspecifyanyadditionalrequirementstomitigatetherisks.JustasithasbeentheruleinASMEthatitsstandardswouldnotdefinewhenavesselisinlethalservice,whatadditionalrequirementswouldbeappropriateforanygivenvesselarebestdefinedbytheuser,andnotbytheCommittee.
