【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsaredesignedtocomparegasketmaterialsundercontrolledconditionsandtoprovideaprecisemeasureofleakagerate.Thesetestmethodsaresuitableformeasuringleakageratesashighas6L/handaslowas0.3mL/h.Inmanycases,x201C;zerox201D;leakagemaynotbeattainable.Thesetestmethodsevaluateleakageratesaftertimeperiodsthataretypically5to30minunderload.Holdingagasketmaterialunderloadforextendedtimeperiodsmaygivedifferentresults.Ifthefluidbeingusedinthetestcauseschanges,suchasswelling,inthegasketmaterial,thenunpredictableresultsmaybeobtained.1.1Thesetestmethodsprovideameansofevaluatingthesealingpropertiesofsheetandsolidform-in-placegasketmaterialsatroomtemperature.TestMethodAisrestrictedtoliquidleakagemeasurements,whereasTestMethodBmaybeusedforbothliquidandgasleakagemeasurements.1.2Thesetestmethodsaresuitableforevaluatingthesealingcharacteristicsofagasketmaterialunderdifferentcompressiveflangeloads.Thetestmethodmaybeusedasanacceptancetestwhentheproduceranduserhaveagreedtospecifictestconditionsforthefollowingparameters:testmedium,internalpressureonmedium,andflangeloadongasketspecimens.1.3Thesetestmethodsuseasmall-diameternarrow-widthgasketasthetestspecimenunderrelativelylowgasketloadsandrelativelylowpressures.TestMethodF2378isanothersealabilitytestmethodthatusesalargergasketspecimenandhigherinternalpressuresandflangeloads.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(Forspecifichazardorwarningstatements,orboth,see5.2.11,Section6,6.3,8.2.4,11.3.2,and11.4.2.)
